Kamala Goes To War With Who?

Former Vice President Kamala Harris is now turning her fire inward — openly criticizing the Democratic Party and warning that it is “stuck in the past” and dangerously out of touch with everyday Americans.

Harris made the remarks during a recent interview on At Our Table With Jaime Harrison, a podcast hosted by former Democratic National Committee chairman Jaime Harrison. The episode was released Wednesday and quickly drew attention for its unusually blunt tone.

“In some ways, we are very much stuck in the past,” Harris said, arguing that Democrats often fail to communicate in ways that feel authentic or relevant to voters. “We’ve got to speak to this moment,” she added.

Democrats ‘Talking’ — But Not Listening?

Harris went further, accusing her own party of paying lip service to voters rather than genuinely hearing their concerns.

“I think there is a lot that we need to do,” Harris said. “That is about recognizing we give a lot of lip service to listening to the people — but are we really listening?”

Her comments echo growing frustration among Democratic voters following election losses, internal divisions, and declining public confidence in party leadership.

A Shot at Party Leadership

The former California senator also suggested that longtime Democratic leaders rely too heavily on outdated messaging and political strategies. Harris urged the party to embrace newer voices, even if their communication styles differ from the traditional Democratic playbook.

The remarks amount to a rare public rebuke of Democratic leadership from someone who once stood at the top of the party’s national ticket.

Back in the Spotlight

Harris has reemerged on the media circuit in recent weeks to promote her new memoir, 107 Days, which focuses on her failed 2024 presidential campaign. In the book, she reflects on her brief run and offers candid assessments of fellow Democrats she considered as potential running mates.

She also explains why she ultimately chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz over other well-known Democrats — a decision that drew scrutiny at the time and continues to spark debate inside the party.

Is 2028 Next?

Speculation is already growing about Harris’s political future, especially as Democrats look toward the 2028 presidential race.

When asked directly whether she plans to run again, Harris declined to commit. “I have not made any decisions about that,” she said — a carefully worded response that leaves the door open.

For now, Harris’s comments raise a bigger question: is this simply a post-campaign reflection, or the opening shot in a broader battle over the future direction of the Democratic Party?
