Trump Schools Lying Governor

President Donald Trump delivered a powerful response after New York Governor Kathy Hochul tried to blame his administration for the massive Long Island Rail Road strike that has left hundreds of thousands of commuters scrambling.

In a fiery Truth Social post, Trump dismissed Hochul’s claims as another example of Democrat leaders refusing to take responsibility for the problems unfolding under their own watch.

Trump: “I Have Nothing To Do With It”

President Trump said Hochul’s accusation was completely false and made it clear that the labor dispute is a New York state issue.

“Governor Kathy Hochul is trying to blame me for the Long Island Railroad strike, even though I have absolutely nothing to do with it,” Trump wrote.

He added that he had not even heard about the situation until Saturday morning.

For many conservatives, Trump’s response underscored what they see as a familiar strategy from Democrat politicians: blame President Trump whenever their own policies fail.

Thousands of Workers Walk Off the Job

About 3,500 Long Island Rail Road employees went on strike after contract negotiations broke down.

The strike is the first on the LIRR in more than 30 years and could disrupt travel for as many as 300,000 commuters.

Five labor unions are demanding a 5 percent pay increase, saying workers have gone three years without a raise.

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters has backed the workers, arguing they deserve fair compensation after years of stalled talks.

Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority has offered a 3 percent increase, warning that larger raises could lead to higher fares and additional financial pressure on taxpayers.

Hochul Blames Trump Instead of Fixing the Problem

Governor Hochul called the union demands “reckless” and claimed the Trump administration contributed to the strike by cutting mediation efforts short.

She argued that federal actions pushed negotiations toward a breakdown.

Critics say the governor is attempting to shift attention away from her own inability to resolve the dispute before commuters were affected.

The National Mediation Board, which helps settle labor disputes involving railroads and airlines, has also been criticized by Hochul during the negotiations.

Trump Says Republican Leadership Would Solve It Fast

President Trump said the dispute should be easy to settle and pointed to Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman as the leader New York needs.

According to Trump, Blakeman would restore common-sense leadership, reduce crime, and lower taxes.

“He should be your next governor,” Trump said.

The president also offered to help end the strike personally.

“Kathy, call me if you can’t do it,” Trump wrote. “I’ll get it done.”

A Major Election Issue for New Yorkers

The public clash comes as Hochul campaigns for reelection and faces increasing criticism over crime, taxes, and the cost of living in New York.

For many voters, the Long Island Rail Road strike is another reminder of how government dysfunction can disrupt daily life for hardworking Americans.

President Trump’s message was simple: effective leadership solves problems, while weak leadership looks for someone else to blame.
