In a dramatic escalation, Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) lashed out at President Donald Trump after explosive allegations surfaced, accusing Schiff of mortgage fraud in a scathing Truth Social post that’s now gone viral.
President Trump accused Schiff of lying about his primary residence to fraudulently obtain a cheaper mortgage—an act that could constitute federal mortgage fraud if proven true. According to Trump, Schiff declared a Maryland property as his “primary residence,” despite serving as a full-time California lawmaker.
“Adam Schiff falsely claimed his main residence was in Maryland just to score a lower mortgage rate—essentially scamming the system—when in reality, he’s supposed to live in California,” Trump wrote. “This kind of abuse can’t go unpunished!”
The accusation has added fuel to a growing fire, as Americans grow increasingly frustrated with career politicians appearing to live by a separate set of rules. For many, this looks like another example of Washington elites gaming the system while hardworking Americans struggle to pay their bills.
Schiff responded on X (formerly Twitter), brushing off the serious allegation as “political retribution.”
“Ever since I led Trump’s first impeachment, he’s wanted me arrested for treason. So I guess this latest smear is just more of the same,” Schiff claimed.
He then pivoted to attack Trump over the ongoing Epstein scandal, referencing recent outrage over a Department of Justice memo that allegedly denies the existence of a client list—even though Attorney General Pam Bondi publicly confirmed its existence earlier this year.
“This won’t distract from Trump’s Epstein files problem,” Schiff added, attempting to deflect attention from the fraud claims.
Schiff denied any wrongdoing related to his real estate filings, but for many Americans, the damage is already done. At a time when trust in government is at an all-time low, this latest controversy raises serious questions about ethics, accountability, and whether powerful Democrats like Schiff are being protected by a politicized system.
With the 2024 election season heating up, one thing is clear: President Trump is not backing down from holding the D.C. elite accountable—and millions of Americans are watching closely.
