GOP Governor Outlaws Democrats

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt is taking aim at Texas Democrats who fled their own state to dodge a critical redistricting vote — calling their stunt “disappointing” and “a slap in the face to voters.”

Speaking to Newsmax’s Wake Up America, Stitt said the group of 13 Texas House Democrats ran off before Republicans could pass a new congressional map. The Democrats called it “gerrymandering,” but their walkout triggered Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to order their arrest and urge the state Supreme Court to remove them from the Legislature.

“They’re trying to take their ball and go home,” Stitt said. “They’re hiding in other states. They better not come to Oklahoma, because I’ll help Gov. Abbott bring them back to Austin.”

Americans Fed Up With Political Games

Stitt says voters are “tired of the nonsense” in politics. “They see lawmakers skipping out on their jobs instead of showing up and voting. That’s why Gov. Abbott is fighting back — to make sure the people’s work gets done.”

Stitt Pushes ‘Make Oklahoma Healthy Again’

While backing Abbott’s crackdown, Stitt also promoted his new Make Oklahoma Healthy Again initiative — aimed at improving public health through common-sense changes.

The governor praised Health and Human Services Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. for targeting processed foods and pushing to ban SNAP benefits from being spent on candy, soda, and junk food.

“I love the idea of going back to basics,” Stitt said. “Shop at farmers markets, cook at home, and sit down together as a family. Other countries do this better than we do — and it’s time to bring it back here in America.”

Holding Politicians Accountable

From Oklahoma to Texas, Stitt made it clear he stands with leaders like Abbott who are willing to hold runaway lawmakers accountable. “If you’re elected to do a job, you show up and do it,” Stitt said.

This high-profile standoff between Republican governors and Democrat lawmakers is just the latest sign that the 2026 political season is heating up — and voters are watching closely.
