Chris Christie Back To Harass Trump

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is back in the spotlight, this time attacking President Trump over his decision to fire the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics following July’s disappointing jobs report. For longtime Trump supporters, Christie’s latest outburst is just more noise from a Republican elite desperate to stay relevant.

Appearing on ABC’s This Week, Christie blasted the president, calling his actions “petulant” after Commissioner Erika McEntarfer was removed from her post. Her dismissal came just hours after the Labor Department reported the U.S. added only 73,000 jobs in July—far below projections. Even more troubling, revisions to previous months slashed more than 258,000 jobs from the original counts.

“When President Trump gets numbers he doesn’t like, he finds someone to blame,” Christie said. “This is the act of a petulant child.”

But critics of Christie are calling this the latest example of a RINO insider attacking Trump from the sidelines. The BLS chief, they argue, is part of the same Washington bureaucracy that has misled the American people for decades. President Trump has repeatedly vowed to drain the swamp and bring accountability back to government agencies.

Christie, who failed to gain traction during his 2024 presidential run, insisted that the BLS chief “can’t rig the numbers” because too many people are involved. But Trump allies say that’s the problem—the system is bloated, opaque, and too often shielded from real oversight.

President Trump defended the firing, saying a new commissioner will be named soon—someone who understands the urgency of accurate data in a time of national economic recovery. “The American people deserve honesty—not excuses,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

For many conservative voters, Trump’s decisive move is just more proof of why they trust him to fix broken systems—something Washington insiders like Chris Christie have never been able to do.
