A growing controversy surrounding Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) is raising serious questions—and her response is only adding fuel to the fire.
When reporters pressed Crockett on Wednesday about her office’s connection to a security guard with a troubling criminal past, she refused to engage. Instead, she brushed off the questions and pointed journalists to a prior statement.
“I already addressed this,” Crockett said, declining further comment and appearing visibly irritated by continued inquiries.
But the situation is far from settled.
At the center of the controversy is Diamon-Mazairre Robinson, 39, who reportedly worked security for Crockett under the alias “Mike King.” Shocking details surfaced last week revealing Robinson had a lengthy criminal record, including allegations of theft, probation violations, and even impersonating law enforcement.
The story took a dramatic turn when Robinson was killed during an armed standoff with SWAT in Dallas.
According to authorities, Robinson barricaded himself inside a garage at a children’s hospital while police attempted to arrest him on an active warrant. After the standoff ended, investigators recovered 11 firearms from the scene—raising even more alarming questions about how he was able to operate as a congressional security contractor.
Crockett has since stated that she only knew Robinson by his alias and claimed he worked with her office for years without incident.
Her office insists all proper procedures were followed.
In a formal statement, Crockett’s team said they were “shocked and saddened” by the revelations, emphasizing that the security contractor had been approved through official channels and worked with organizations tied to law enforcement, including Capitol Police.
Still, many Americans are asking the obvious question:
How did someone with that kind of record pass vetting to protect a member of Congress?
Even Crockett acknowledged the troubling reality, admitting the situation highlights “serious gaps” in the system.
For critics, however, her refusal to answer direct questions is just as concerning as the incident itself.
