GOP Rallies Voters To Fire Top Trump Hater

Republicans are mounting a final effort to remove one of President Donald Trump’s most outspoken Democratic opponents from Washington, with Georgia’s closely watched Senate election quickly approaching.

Rep. Mike Collins, the Republican challenging Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff, is urging voters to reject the incumbent and give the GOP another seat in the U.S. Senate.

Collins has repeatedly accused Ossoff of presenting himself as a moderate while supporting liberal policies in Washington. He argues that Georgia voters deserve a senator who will represent conservative priorities rather than stand in the way of Trump’s agenda.

With Election Day scheduled for November 3, the stakes are growing for both parties.

Republican Challenger Takes Aim At Ossoff

Collins has made Ossoff’s political record a central focus of his campaign, arguing that the Democratic senator is out of touch with many Georgia voters.

During an earlier appearance on Newsmax, Collins predicted that Republicans would defeat Ossoff in November.

“We are going to get rid of this guy. I’m going to beat him in November,” Collins declared.

The Georgia congressman has also questioned Ossoff’s claims of political moderation, arguing that his actions in Washington tell a different story.

Collins describes himself as a small-business owner who understands the challenges facing working Americans.

He has sought to contrast that background with Ossoff’s political career, emphasizing differences between the candidates on government spending, immigration, and economic policy.

Trump And Republicans Target Georgia Senate Seat

President Trump has also become directly involved in the contest, campaigning for Collins as Republicans seek to expand their influence in Washington.

The president appeared at an October 16 rally in Dalton, Georgia, where he criticized Ossoff and encouraged Republican participation in the midterm elections.

Trump’s involvement reflects the importance of the Senate contest and his longstanding political rivalry with Ossoff.

The Democratic senator has frequently criticized Trump, making opposition to the president a prominent feature of his political identity.

Ossoff has challenged the administration over economic policies, government accountability, and other issues.

Republicans, meanwhile, argue that Georgia would be better represented by a senator more closely aligned with the president’s priorities.

The contest has therefore become more than a battle between two candidates. It also represents a political test of Trump’s continued influence in a state that has delivered important victories to both parties.

Immigration And The Economy Take Center Stage

Collins has placed particular emphasis on immigration enforcement and public safety.

He has highlighted his work on the Laken Riley Act, named after the Georgia nursing student murdered in 2024.

The legislation strengthened federal detention requirements involving certain undocumented immigrants accused of specific crimes.

Although Ossoff ultimately supported the measure, Collins has criticized the Democratic senator’s broader approach to immigration and border security.

The two candidates have also offered competing messages on economic issues.

Collins has emphasized reducing government burdens on businesses, addressing healthcare costs, and supporting American workers.

Ossoff has focused on affordability, healthcare, and criticism of the Trump administration’s economic policies.

These disagreements have become central to a race that could affect how effectively Republicans advance their legislative priorities during the remainder of Trump’s presidency.

Polls Show Republicans Face A Difficult Fight

Despite Collins’ aggressive campaign, recent polling indicates that defeating Ossoff will not be easy.

An Atlanta Journal-Constitution and University of Georgia survey released October 21 showed Ossoff receiving 48% support among likely voters, compared with 40% for Collins.

Another 12% remained undecided.

The survey also found that Collins performed particularly well among self-described conservatives, while Ossoff maintained stronger support among moderates.

Those numbers demonstrate the challenge facing Republicans as they attempt to unseat the Democratic incumbent.

Collins has nevertheless continued campaigning and encouraging Republican participation in the election.

On October 23, he cast his ballot in his home county and publicly encouraged others to vote.

Both campaigns are concentrating on reaching voters as the election enters its final days.

Georgia Becomes A Major Midterm Battleground

Georgia has become one of the country’s most important political battlegrounds in recent elections.

Trump carried the state in the 2024 presidential election, but Democrats have also enjoyed significant statewide victories.

Ossoff first won his Senate seat in January 2021, defeating Republican incumbent David Perdue in a runoff election.

His victory helped Democrats secure control of the Senate at the beginning of the Biden administration.

Now, Republicans are hoping to reverse that outcome.

A Collins victory would add another Republican voice to the Senate and strengthen the party’s position in Washington.

An Ossoff victory would allow Democrats to retain a seat in a state Trump won just two years earlier.

November Election Will Deliver The Final Verdict

With the election approaching, Republicans are continuing their efforts to convince Georgia voters that Ossoff should not receive another six-year term.

Collins is betting that concerns about Washington politics, immigration, and the economy will help him overcome the Democratic incumbent’s polling advantage.

Ossoff, meanwhile, is seeking to defend his record and persuade voters to keep him in office.

The outcome remains in the hands of Georgia voters.

On November 3, they will decide whether to give Ossoff another term in the U.S. Senate or replace him with Republican Mike Collins.
