Kamala and Biden Back Again

Kamala Harris, former Vice President, has recently joined forces with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), following the lead of her former running mate, President Joe Biden, who signed with the agency just weeks earlier. Both Harris and Biden have long had ties to CAA, which helped them with projects during their political careers. This new partnership highlights their continued prominence in the political sphere, as well as the potential to expand their influence in new areas outside of public office.

In the 2024 presidential race, Harris briefly took center stage when she led a campaign alongside Minnesota Governor Tim Walz after Biden’s decision to step down from the race. Despite her efforts, Harris was defeated by former President Donald Trump, who secured a resounding 312 electoral votes, while Harris only garnered 226. Trump’s victory in key swing states was a crucial factor in his success, reinforcing his political dominance.

CAA, known for representing prominent figures such as Barack and Michelle Obama, Beto O’Rourke, and Joe Manchin, is now working with Harris to “create strategic opportunities” that will allow her to further her legacy of public service. This includes expanding her platform in support of the causes she has long championed. The agency’s role will likely focus on connecting her with new audiences, from public speaking to media engagements, all in an effort to maintain her influence in national affairs.

Since leaving office, both Biden and Harris have kept a relatively low profile. Biden has spent time in California with his wife, Jill, while Harris was recently spotted attending a Los Angeles Lakers game and Broadway performances with her husband, Doug Emhoff. She also delivered a speech at one of those performances, reiterating her belief in protecting individual rights and freedoms, which she considers vital for the future of the nation.

CAA’s involvement with these political figures signals a shift towards a more public, media-driven post-office career. Harris is scheduled to receive the Chairman’s Award at the NAACP Image Awards, a reflection of her ongoing commitment to the causes she fought for during her time in office. This collaboration with CAA will likely enable her to remain in the public eye, further shaping her legacy and pushing her agenda forward.

This partnership underscores a larger trend of former political figures expanding their influence beyond traditional political roles, seeking new ways to engage with the public and amplify their platforms. While the political left may celebrate this development, it’s a reminder that influence in America is not just limited to Washington; it spans across entertainment, media, and public speaking, areas where figures like Harris and Biden are now poised to thrive.
