The U.S. Senate is preparing to take bold action against Russia as the Kremlin refuses to make meaningful progress toward a ceasefire in Ukraine. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) confirmed Friday that legislation targeting Moscow’s finances will begin moving through Congress next week.
🇺🇸 “Enough talk. It’s time for action,” Graham declared from Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian leaders. “The Senate is ready, and House members are standing by. You’ll see results—fast.”
What’s in the Bill? Big Tariffs and Bigger Consequences
The draft bill includes a 500% tariff on imports from countries that continue doing business with Russia—especially those still buying Russian oil, natural gas, uranium, or refined petroleum. The goal: choke off funding for Vladimir Putin’s war machine.
Other key provisions:
- Ban on U.S. citizens purchasing Russian sovereign debt
- Potential 500% tariffs on China if it continues aiding Moscow
- Global pressure campaign to lower the price cap on Russian oil
Graham plans to travel to France and Germany next to rally allied support. “If Europe steps up and hits China with penalties too, the Senate will follow through without hesitation,” he said.
President Trump: Ukraine Doing Its Part — But Putin Is Playing Games
Graham praised Ukraine for honoring its commitments to President Donald Trump. However, Russia has remained tight-lipped about its intentions, just days before peace talks are set to begin in Istanbul.
According to Graham, Putin is deliberately stalling negotiations, hoping U.S. and European support for Ukraine will weaken. “That’s a mistake,” he warned.
Trump’s Response: Strong Warning, But Door Still Open
President Trump issued a clear warning following Russia’s largest drone strike campaign of the war—saying additional sanctions are on the table. But he also signaled flexibility in case a deal can be reached.
“Does Putin want peace? I can’t say yet,” Trump told a reporter. “But you’ll know in about two weeks.”
Why This Matters
For patriotic Americans 50 and older, this showdown marks a turning point. It’s about strength, leadership, and standing firm against global aggression. While weak politicians waffle, President Trump and Senate conservatives are leading from the front.
