California’s liberal governor is once again targeting President Trump—and this time, he’s exploiting the Jeffrey Epstein controversy to do it.
On a recent podcast appearance, Democrat Gavin Newsom mocked the concerns of millions of Americans who still have questions about Epstein’s connections to the world’s most powerful elites. Instead of calling for truth and transparency, Newsom laughed it off—and admitted he wants Democrats to weaponize the outrage.
“I enjoy the hell out of it,” Newsom said, referring to public frustration about the Epstein case. “I hope our party gins this up much more.”
This shocking comment came during an interview on the Diary of a CEO podcast, where Newsom accused former President Donald Trump and his allies of misleading the public. He claimed Trump supporters were “used” and that “someone lied” about the Epstein files.
But Newsom’s accusations ignore the facts.
Trump’s DOJ Investigated Epstein — and Found No Smoking Gun
Under the Trump administration, the Department of Justice and FBI conducted a full review of Epstein’s case. Their conclusion: there was no credible evidence of a secret ‘client list,’ blackmail ring, or elite conspiracy. Epstein was confirmed to have died by suicide in 2019 while in jail.
Still, Newsom is pushing a narrative designed to sow doubt and discredit Trump’s base—many of whom believe there was a coordinated cover-up to protect the rich and powerful.
President Trump, for his part, has repeatedly said that if damaging information existed, the previous Democrat-led DOJ would have used it long ago.
“If there was a ‘smoking gun’ on Epstein, why didn’t the Dems—who controlled the files for four years—use it?” Trump posted on Truth Social. “BECAUSE THEY HAD NOTHING!!!”
Trump Took Real Action—Newsom Just Runs His Mouth
Newsom tried to link Trump to Epstein, claiming the two were “close” and citing old photos from the 1990s. But what he failed to mention is that Trump banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago over inappropriate behavior and publicly distanced himself long before Epstein’s crimes became known.
President Trump also directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to unseal key grand jury transcripts related to the Epstein investigation—proving his commitment to real accountability.
But a Florida federal judge denied the administration’s request this week, citing legal technicalities and claiming the documents couldn’t be released without specific new evidence.
Democrats Are Playing Politics While Trump Fights for the Truth
Newsom’s comments reveal exactly what many conservatives already suspect: the left doesn’t want transparency—they want political ammunition.
Rather than support efforts to uncover the full truth about Epstein’s connections, Democrats like Newsom are laughing about it—using the issue to smear President Trump and energize their radical base ahead of the 2028 election.
But President Trump isn’t backing down. With leaders like Pam Bondi at the helm, he’s continuing to push for full disclosure and real answers.
While the left plays games, Trump delivers results—and America sees it.
