Ocasio-Cortez Wants To Be Trump?

Is the Democratic Party heading for a civil war? A brand-new poll reveals that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is now crushing longtime Senate leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) in a potential primary showdown. The numbers are stunning—and they signal a deeper shift in Democrat politics that should concern every American.

According to left-wing polling group Data for Progress, 55% of likely Democratic voters now back AOC, while only 36% support Schumer. Another 9% are still on the fence. The poll, conducted in late March, surveyed 770 likely voters via text and web panel, with a margin of error of 4%.

A Progressive Takeover in Plain Sight

What’s behind this dramatic shift? Schumer recently joined Republicans to help pass a funding bill to avoid a government shutdown—a rare move that enraged his party’s radical base. That decision may have opened the door for the progressive wing, led by AOC, to push for total control.

“This poll shows Democrats are looking for a fighter,” said Danielle Deiseroth of Data for Progress. But it’s the kind of “fighter” they’re flocking to that raises eyebrows—especially among older, more moderate Americans.

Fox News Hosts: AOC Using Trump’s Playbook

Over on Fox & Friends Weekend, hosts Rachel Campos-Duffy, Griff Jenkins, and Charles Hurt discussed the poll—and they weren’t shy about what it could mean for 2024 and beyond.

Campos-Duffy, a longtime critic of the progressive left, shocked viewers by comparing Ocasio-Cortez to President Donald Trump—not in policy, but in strategy.

“She gets it. She understands her base, she knows how to speak directly to them, and she doesn’t need the media to do it,” Campos-Duffy said. “That’s Trump-style populism. I don’t like AOC, but I can recognize raw political talent when I see it.”

She also pointed out that Schumer’s failure to leave while on top mirrors the arrogance of career politicians who overstay their welcome.

AOC and Bernie Sanders Join Forces

Griff Jenkins added that AOC saw her moment when Schumer crossed the aisle. Soon after, she hit the road with none other than Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), hosting fiery town halls and energizing far-left voters.

“That was Bernie passing the torch,” said Campos-Duffy. “No question about it.”

Now, with Schumer vulnerable and the progressive base emboldened, many are wondering if AOC is preparing for something even bigger. Could the radical left soon control the entire Democratic Party?

What This Means for Conservatives

For conservative Americans—especially those 50 and older—this should sound the alarm. The Democrats aren’t just drifting left. They’re racing there. With politicians like AOC on the rise, the days of moderate Democrats are quickly fading.

If AOC defeats Schumer, it won’t just be a win for her—it’ll be a total victory for the socialist wing of the party.
