Trump Claims He Has Highest IQ, You Agree?

Yes

I do.

No

I don’t.

President Donald Trump has long expressed confidence in his intelligence, and the subject has returned to the national conversation during his second term.

In September, Trump wrote that America needs a “strong and smart” president with a “high IQ” while discussing artificial intelligence policy. He has also repeatedly highlighted his performance on cognitive screenings. Following his 2026 medical examination, Trump said he had taken cognitive tests three times and received perfect scores.

There is an important distinction, however, between a cognitive screening and an IQ examination. Medical experts note that commonly administered cognitive screenings are designed to identify possible cognitive impairment rather than establish someone’s intelligence quotient. There is no independently verified public IQ score that establishes Trump’s precise IQ or how it compares with other presidents.

Intelligence in political leadership can also mean different things to different voters. Some may focus on decision-making, negotiation and business experience, while others may look at academic achievement, policy knowledge or other qualities.

That makes Trump’s statements about intelligence another subject on which Americans are likely to have sharply different opinions.
