Does Trump Still Have The Right Priorities?

Yes

He does.

No

He doesn’t.

President Donald Trump returned to the White House promising to put America first, strengthen the economy, secure the nation’s borders, and restore confidence in the federal government. Now, as his second term continues, Americans are evaluating whether the president remains focused on the issues that matter most to their families and communities.

For many voters, presidential priorities are about more than campaign promises. They involve everyday concerns such as grocery prices, retirement savings, healthcare costs, public safety, and the financial security of future generations.

Trump has made immigration enforcement, economic policy, international trade, and national security major parts of his administration’s agenda. His supporters view these priorities as necessary steps toward strengthening the country and addressing problems they believe previous administrations failed to resolve.

However, critics question whether the administration has devoted enough attention to the rising cost of living and other domestic challenges. They argue that Americans need measurable improvements in household finances, access to affordable healthcare, and long-term economic stability.

The debate has become especially important as voters consider the country’s direction and the effectiveness of the current administration.

A January 2026 AP-NORC survey found that approximately half of American adults believed Trump was focusing primarily on the wrong priorities, while roughly two in ten believed he was concentrating on the right ones. Another group viewed his priorities as a mixture of right and wrong.

Those findings illustrate the different expectations Americans have for presidential leadership.

Some voters place border security and national sovereignty at the top of their concerns. Others emphasize inflation, Social Security, Medicare, government spending, and the ability of working families to maintain their standard of living.

The central question is whether the president’s decisions reflect the most pressing needs of the American people.

As Trump continues implementing his policies, Americans have an opportunity to assess his administration based on its actions, accomplishments, and continuing challenges.
