Republican Voters Flip On Trump?

The media is buzzing with claims that even Republican voters are starting to sour on President Donald Trump over the economy. But a closer look shows the story isn’t as simple as the headlines suggest.

Poll Claims Rising Grocery Costs

A new Axios/Harris poll says 47% of Americans believe groceries are more expensive than last year. That includes about one-third of Republicans, half of Democrats, and most independents. Staples like beef, coffee, and eggs have seen big price jumps.

But here’s the key point: inflation was ignited under Joe Biden and reached the worst levels in 40 years before Trump took office again. President Trump inherited that mess—and now Democrats and the press want to blame him for trying to clean it up.

Who Gets the Blame?

The poll suggests 48% of Democrats, 38% of independents, and 20% of Republicans blame Trump’s administration. But many Republicans say the real problem is global supply issues and corporate price gouging—not Trump’s America First policies.

Meanwhile, a Gallup survey shows economic confidence has improved dramatically since Biden’s presidency, when the index cratered to -58. Today it stands at -20. That’s still negative, but it’s far better than the disastrous Biden era.

Tariffs and Trump’s Plan

Critics point to Trump’s tariffs, but few mention that those tariffs are bringing in billions of dollars in revenue. Trump has promised to use that money to:

  • Pay down the national debt
  • Lower taxes
  • Deliver rebates directly to American families

At the United Nations last week, Trump defended his record:

“This is the golden age of America. Gasoline prices are down, mortgage rates are down, grocery prices are coming down, and inflation has been defeated. The only thing going up is the stock market, which just hit an all-time high.”

The Media’s Spin

Democrats and the corporate press want to paint this as a “Republicans turning on Trump” story. But the truth is simple: Americans know who broke the economy—Biden and the radical left—and they know who can fix it.

President Trump turned America around once, and he’s doing it again. The only “flip” happening is the media flipping reality to attack him before the next election.
