President Trump has openly floated the idea of running for a third term, a move that many Americans support — even as critics cite the 22nd Amendment, which limits presidents to two elected terms. Trump, however, has made it clear in interviews, including with NBC News, that he is “not joking” about the idea.
“We’re very popular,” Trump said. “A lot of people want me to do it. But it’s early — we have a long way to go.”
