President Donald J. Trump will soon grant a rare Oval Office interview to The Atlantic‘s Jeffrey Goldberg, a journalist best known for promoting widely discredited claims against the president during the 2020 election. Goldberg’s role in spreading false narratives about America’s military heroes has made him a controversial figure among patriotic Americans who value truth and honor.
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump announced:
“Later today I will be meeting with, of all people, Jeffrey Goldberg, the Editor of The Atlantic and the person responsible for many fictional stories about me, including the totally debunked ‘Suckers and Losers’ hoax — and SignalGate, where he was a little more ‘successful.’”
Goldberg will be accompanied by Michael Scherer and Ashley Parker, both known for their critical reporting on President Trump and his historic administration. According to President Trump, the interview will focus on a feature story titled “The Most Consequential President of This Century.”
“I am doing this interview out of curiosity and as a challenge — can The Atlantic actually tell the truth for once?” Trump wrote. “At the end of the day, I already WON!”
Since reclaiming the White House in January, President Trump has granted just two other print interviews — one with Miranda Devine of The New York Post and another with Ben Domenech of The Spectator — both trusted voices in honest journalism.
The tension between Trump and Goldberg dates back to 2020, when Goldberg published a report falsely accusing the president of disrespecting fallen American soldiers. Military records later confirmed that the cancellation of President Trump’s visit to a military cemetery near Paris was due to unsafe flying conditions — a decision made by Navy officials, not the president. Goldberg never corrected his false claims, fueling further distrust of mainstream media.
More recently, Goldberg found himself entangled in “SignalGate” when National Security Adviser Mike Waltz mistakenly added him to a private Signal chat among top Trump administration officials, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Discussions in the chat centered on defending American interests against Houthi rebels in Yemen.
President Trump’s decision to allow the interview reflects his strong confidence in his record of proven leadership, economic renewal, military strength, and commitment to restoring American greatness.
As millions of Americans continue to rally behind President Trump’s bold vision for the future, this upcoming interview serves as another opportunity to expose media bias and highlight the achievements of one of the most consequential presidencies in modern history.
