Trump Loses Conservative Support?

Despite media spin, President Donald Trump’s support among conservative voters is stronger than ever. New polling shows his approval rating dipped briefly this spring—only to rebound powerfully as his America First agenda regained momentum.

According to YouGov/The Economist, Trump’s net approval among conservatives reached +85% in March, dipped to +67% in May, and has now returned to +80% in July—just in time for the critical push toward the 2026 midterm elections.

So what caused the temporary dip? In April, Trump announced aggressive new tariffs on foreign imports, aiming to protect American jobs and manufacturing. While some Wall Street insiders panicked, everyday conservatives saw a president willing to take on China, Russia, and globalist interests. By July, Trump had recalibrated the policy, stabilized markets, and signed his landmark “One Big Beautiful Bill”—a sweeping tax and spending package delivering real relief for working Americans.

And he didn’t stop there.

Facing rising threats from Iran’s nuclear program, Trump ordered targeted military strikes to stop enrichment facilities. It was a bold move that reinforced his image as a decisive commander-in-chief—something voters in battleground states care deeply about.

Still, the liberal media continues to cherry-pick data. A recent Tyson Group poll highlighted Trump’s national approval at 45%, ignoring the fact that his base remains rock-solid—especially among older, patriotic voters who value strength, faith, and traditional American values.

Democrats are hoping for cracks in Trump’s base. Why? Because they know their open-border policies, reckless spending, and soft-on-crime agenda are losing traction in red and purple districts. Without division among conservatives, the Left has no clear path to retake Congress in 2026.

Some academic critics argue Trump seeks headlines over substance. But voters see something else: a president who delivers—on taxes, border security, national defense, and restoring American pride. With every bold move, Trump continues to set the tone for the Republican Party—and the country.

As midterms approach, one thing is clear: Donald J. Trump isn’t losing conservative support—he’s earning it all over again.
