President Donald Trump has done it again — and the numbers prove it.
The border crisis that once spiraled out of control under Joe Biden has been completely reversed. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed this week that illegal crossings have plunged to the lowest level ever recorded in U.S. history.
Historic Drop in Illegal Crossings
According to preliminary figures from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), only 30,561 total encounters were recorded in October — the smallest number for any October since record-keeping began.
That’s a 79% decrease compared with October 2024 and a 29% drop below the previous all-time low in 2012.
For the sixth straight month, Border Patrol agents reported zero migrant releases into the U.S. interior — something unheard of in modern American history.
“An historic milestone — the fewest border crossings ever recorded in October and the sixth consecutive month with zero migrant releases,” declared Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. “America’s border has never been stronger. All credit to President Trump and our courageous DHS officers who continue to make this nation proud.”
Law Enforcement Praises Trump’s Leadership
CBP Commissioner Rodney Scott credited the dramatic success to Trump’s “no-nonsense” approach to national security.
“Our mission is simple: secure the border and safeguard the nation,” Scott said. “No excuses. No politics. Just results delivered by the most dedicated law enforcement professionals in America.”
Since President Trump returned to office, apprehensions have averaged fewer than 10,000 per month — a historic achievement not seen in decades.
October’s total of 9,845 apprehensions represents a 62% drop from the prior record low in 2018.
The daily average now stands at just 258 apprehensions, a stunning 95% decline from Biden-era averages when illegal crossings routinely topped 150,000 per month.
Biden’s Border Crisis Reversed
During the Biden years, migrant encounters soared past 10 million, overwhelming small towns and law enforcement agencies.
Under Trump’s return, that chaos has been replaced with law, order, and accountability.
CBP data shows total encounters from January through October 2025 reached only 106,134 — lower than the monthly average during Biden’s presidency.
Experts credit Trump’s renewed enforcement measures, including:
- Restoring the “Remain in Mexico” policy
- Ending catch-and-release loopholes
- Reinstating rapid-deportation procedures
- Finishing key sections of the border wall
America Restored
A senior DHS official said the dramatic turnaround sends a clear message to the world: “America’s borders are closed to illegal entry.”
“We promised to restore control, and we have,” the official added. “Under President Trump, the days of open borders are over.”
With record-low crossings, zero releases, and renewed faith in border security, even long-time critics are forced to admit — Trump’s policies work.
