Bill Maher, CNN’s Jake Tapper, and Democrat Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA) used the segment to unload on the planned parade, which is expected to feature tanks, helicopters, and over 6,000 troops in a rare tribute to America’s armed forces. Instead of celebrating the service and sacrifice of our military, the panel resorted to cheap shots and comparisons to authoritarian regimes.
“He admires leaders like Kim Jong-un and aspires to that kind of authoritarian image,” Moulton remarked—overlooking the reality that America has proudly honored its military with parades dating back to World War II and Operation Desert Storm.
Tapper questioned the parade’s cost, claiming it contradicts concerns about government spending—despite the Biden administration’s reckless multi-trillion-dollar policies that have ballooned the national debt. The irony was lost on the panel.
Maher expressed discomfort at seeing tanks on American streets, calling it “unsettling.” Moulton, continuing his criticism, ended with a low blow:
“Goose step or not, that’s probably what he’s looking for,” referring to Trump.

For everyday Americans—especially our veterans—this parade is more than spectacle. It’s a symbol of national pride, a show of respect for those who wear the uniform, and a reminder that patriotism still matters.
