Washington, D.C. — A new YouGov poll shows a clear message from Republican voters: the United States should not be dragged into another costly foreign war.
According to the survey, only 23% of Republicans support U.S. involvement in the growing conflict between Iran and Israel, while a solid 51% say America should stay out of it entirely
Trump Holds the Line: America First Still Resonates
President Donald J. Trump, fresh off his strategic meeting with top security officials after the G7 summit, has made one thing clear — he supports Israel, but won’t rush America into another war.
Trump’s position reflects a balancing act between Republican hawks and the growing wave of America First conservatives who want to focus on problems here at home — border security, inflation, and the rising cost of living.
Marjorie Taylor Greene: “Americans Want Peace, Not Another Forever War”
Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, a vocal critic of foreign entanglements, responded to the poll results with strong support:
“This comes as no surprise. Americans sent a loud message in 2024 — solve America’s problems first. We’re done sending our sons and daughters overseas for conflicts that don’t serve our national interest.”
Republicans Support Negotiation — Not Escalation
Interestingly, 61% of Republicans favor negotiations to stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions, a sign that the GOP base supports strong diplomacy over reckless military action.
However, 60% of Republicans still view Iran as an enemy, according to the data — signaling strong support for Trump’s hardline stance without open-ended intervention.
Trump’s Realist Strategy: No Boots on the Ground, No Empty Promises
According to GOP strategist Matt Klink, Trump is taking a “realist” foreign policy approach — neither neoconservative nor isolationist.
“Trump is looking at risks versus rewards. He’s not afraid to act, but he’s not foolish either. Right now, Israel is doing what needs to be done, and America doesn’t need to bleed for it.”
Trump recently warned Iran to “immediately evacuate,” making it clear that he stands with Israel, but will not commit American troops unless directly necessary.
Congress Pushes Back: “This Is Not Our War”
Constitutional conservatives like Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) are stepping up. Massie, joined by Democrat Ro Khanna, introduced a bipartisan War Powers Resolution reminding the White House that only Congress can declare war.
“This is not our war. If it were, Congress must decide — not unelected bureaucrats,” Massie said on X.
Lindsey Graham, Tucker Carlson Speak Out
While Senator Lindsey Graham sees a potential victory if Iran’s regime falls, others like Tucker Carlson are urging restraint.
“If wanting to focus on our own country is hate speech now, then we’ve really lost perspective,” Carlson said during an appearance with Steve Bannon.
Trump: “Not in the Mood to Negotiate” as Tensions Mount
Speaking to reporters Monday morning, President Trump reaffirmed his stance:
“I’m not too much in the mood to negotiate. Iran should have done the deal.”
As strikes continue in the Middle East, Trump’s message to the American people remains clear:
Support our allies, protect our borders, and stop wasting American lives in endless wars.
Bottom Line:
Republican voters have spoken. They trust President Trump to protect American interests — not to appease the war machine in Washington. With common-sense leadership, the focus stays where it belongs: on protecting our homeland, securing our economy, and putting America First.
