The US midterm elections are approaching and will be held on November 8, 2022. This year 34 Senate seats are up for grabs, as well as all the House seats. Also, there are going to be 36 governor’s races this year.
Historically, the party that is in control of the White House does poorly in the mid terms. The President’s approval rating is also a good indicator of his/her party’s performance, and at present Biden has an approval rating of 41.8% and a disapproval rating of 53.1%.
Many speculate that last year’s Virginia gubernatorial election is a sign of things to come, where Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin beat Terry McAuliffe for the governorship of Virginia.
