Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Peter Doocy challenged the Trump administration during Monday’s press briefing with a bold question: Could federal judges—or even a Supreme Court Justice—face arrest for obstructing immigration enforcement?
The exchange followed the stunning Friday arrest of Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan, who is accused of helping an illegal immigrant evade ICE agents by sneaking him out of her courtroom through a side door. This act of obstruction has sparked outrage among Americans who believe our laws must be respected at every level.
Doocy asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt whether the administration would consider holding higher-ranking judges accountable.
“You’ve arrested a Milwaukee County judge accused of assisting illegal immigrants in evading authorities,” Doocy said. “Is there any scenario where you would pursue charges against someone higher up the judicial ladder, such as a federal judge or even a Supreme Court Justice?”
Leavitt didn’t mince words.
“That’s a hypothetical situation,” Leavitt responded. “But let’s be absolutely clear: this judge interfered with federal officers who were trying to detain an illegal immigrant. She directed that individual to an exit in order to help him avoid capture. This is a textbook example of obstructing justice. You don’t need a law degree to recognize that. Anyone—regardless of their title—who violates federal law or hinders law enforcement risks facing prosecution. No exceptions.”
The Trump administration continues to prove that no one is above the law—and that restoring law and order is not just a slogan, but a promise to the American people.
In a time when illegal immigration and judicial activism threaten the foundation of our Republic, President Trump’s leadership stands as a bulwark for American sovereignty, justice, and accountability.
The American people deserve better—and they deserve answers.
