Hollywood elites just can’t let go of Donald Trump — and George Clooney is leading the charge.
In a CNN interview promoting his new Broadway show, Clooney lashed out at Trump, the conservative movement, and the rise of alternative media that challenges the mainstream narrative.
Clooney: Trump Is “Targeting” the Press — Including CNN and 60 Minutes
While promoting Good Night, and Good Luck, a politically charged play set to air live Saturday night on CNN, Clooney claimed that Trump is threatening freedom of the press.
He referenced Trump’s current lawsuit against 60 Minutes — accusing the network of manipulating an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris to sway the 2024 election.
“It’s a scary time to be in the news business,” Clooney warned. “Most news organizations are under fire. That’s what demagogues do — they go after the media.”
But for millions of Americans who have seen years of bias from outlets like CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC, the media’s credibility was lost long before Trump entered the picture.
Clooney Wrong in 2016 — Still Predicting the End of Trump’s Movement
This isn’t the first time Clooney has made bold predictions about Donald Trump — and gotten them spectacularly wrong.
Back in 2016, Clooney confidently declared:
“There’s not going to be a President Trump.”
He was proven wrong — and the America First movement has only grown stronger.
Now, he claims “Trumpism” will disappear once Trump leaves office, arguing that the Republican Party doesn’t have anyone else with the same “charisma.”
“He’s also a celebrity,” Clooney told CNN’s Anderson Cooper. “He’s charming. People think he’s funny. But when he’s done, they don’t have anyone else.”
Clooney Turns on Biden After 2024 Debate Disaster
Ironically, Clooney has also started criticizing Joe Biden. After the President’s poor debate performance in 2024, Clooney was one of the first major Democrats to suggest Biden step down.
A CNN exposé even revealed that Biden failed to recognize Clooney at a major fundraising event — sparking even more concern over Biden’s cognitive health.
The Bottom Line: Trump Still Dominates the Movement — and the Media Can’t Stand It
While Clooney and other liberal celebrities continue to take aim at Trump, polls and rallies show something different: the conservative movement isn’t going anywhere.
