Progressive activist and social media influencer Harry Sisson is drawing criticism after making surprising comments about members of President Donald Trump’s family and senior White House officials during a recent interview. The remarks quickly spread across social media, sparking debate among conservatives over the increasingly heated tone of today’s political discourse.
Sisson, who has built a large online following by defending Democratic policies and frequently criticizing President Trump, made the comments during a Saturday appearance on Don Lemon’s YouTube show.
As the conversation turned to politics, Sisson suggested he would rather settle political disagreements in a boxing ring than through debate.
“I want to fight them,” Sisson said.
Lemon asked if he meant an actual fight.
“Yeah,” Sisson replied. “If Stephen Miller would agree, or one of the children, or really anybody in the administration, I want to fight them.”
Lemon laughed and said he would pay to watch such a matchup take place on the White House lawn inside a UFC-style cage.
Sisson embraced the idea, suggesting that instead of holding exhibition UFC events, political rivals should settle their disagreements in the ring. Lemon then added that he would also be willing to face members of the Trump administration in a similar event.
The comments quickly attracted attention because of the people Sisson mentioned. Stephen Miller serves as one of President Trump’s top advisers and has been a driving force behind the administration’s immigration agenda. Sisson also referenced members of the president’s family, including Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Barron Trump.
If such a match were ever to happen, there would be a noticeable size difference. Publicly available listings place Donald Trump Jr. at approximately 6-foot-1, Eric Trump at around 6-foot-5, and Barron Trump at roughly 6-foot-9. President Trump has previously described Barron as “my very tall son.” Stephen Miller is commonly listed at about 5-foot-9, while Sisson is listed at just under 5-foot-8.
At 24 years old, Sisson would also be younger than nearly everyone he mentioned, with the exception of 20-year-old Barron Trump.
The exchange comes as Sisson continues to be one of the Democratic Party’s most outspoken online voices against the Trump administration. He has repeatedly criticized President Trump’s immigration policies, border security initiatives, and White House agenda. Earlier this year, he directed harsh criticism toward Miller, who has helped shape many of the administration’s immigration enforcement efforts.
Last week, Miller said during a radio interview that the White House would work with financial institutions on efforts aimed at preventing illegal immigrants from accessing banking services.
Despite the obvious size disadvantage against several of the people he mentioned, Sisson expressed confidence that his boxing experience would give him the edge.
He told Lemon that he boxed for four years and said he would gladly return to training if anyone from the Trump administration or the Trump family accepted his challenge.
“If they want to fight, I’d get back into training camp, get into the best shape of my life, and go fight one of them,” Sisson said.
There is no indication that anyone associated with President Trump or the White House intends to respond to Sisson’s comments. Still, the interview quickly generated reactions across social media, with many conservatives arguing that the remarks reflected the increasingly combative rhetoric coming from some of Trump’s political opponents.
