Do you think climate change is an urgent issue that demands global action?

Some scientists say that if the planet heats by 2 degrees in the next 30 years, we’re cooked. But not everybody buys the fearmongering.

YES

The sky is literally falling.

NO

Chill out. Weather changes.

Climate change activists constantly argue that the world faces imminent climate-induced catastrophe and that “time is running out” to change things around.

However, such doomsday predictions are not new. In fact, they existed as far back as the 1960s. Most of these predictions failed to materialize. The Competitive Enterprise Institute lists 50 years of failed doomsday predictions.

“We have ten years to stop the catastrophe,” said the UN Environmental Chief in 1972. There are numerous other examples from the UN itself. Even as recently as 2007, the head of the UN Climate Panel said, “If there is no action before 2012, that’s too late.”

The latest warning from the UN was in 2019, “only 11 years left to prevent irreversible damage from climate change.”
